GWR Modified Hall 6990 Witherslack Hall was mainly based at 81A Old Oak Common motive power depot where it often pulled London Paddington to Oxford, Bristol and to the West Country express passenger trains.

Great Central Railway - GCR workshops and shed yard at Loughborough: 6990 WITHERSLACK HALL once of 81A Old Oak Common locomotive depot serving Paddington Station in London. Ex GWR Hawksworth designed 6990 was built at Swindon Works in 1949 as a development of the 4900 Hall Class locomotives.
