12. Scampston Village and Walled Gardens Scenes Ryedale and the Howardian Hills, North Yorkshire Malton and Howardian Hills Index Scampston Village and Walled Garden, North Yorkshire, England: They are not too far north of York City in a peaceful and pleasant landscape of farmland. There are some pretty red-brick cottages and the fine little church of St Martin. There is also the tempting produce of a farmhouse bakery across from the red telephone box! The Walled Gardens of Scampston are a real delight to walk around and there is a good restaurant-cafe there too which serves delicious food. Scampston Village

Apart from the gardens themselves, there is a lovely cafe and a beehive which you can look into (safely!) and lots of varieties of plants to buy.
A most enjoyable experience!
