Scampston Village and Walled Gardens Scenes Ryedale and the Howardian Hills, North Yorkshire Malton and Howardian Hills Index Scampston Village and Walled Garden, North Yorkshire, England: They are not too far north of York City in a peaceful and pleasant landscape of farmland. There are some pretty red-brick cottages and the fine little church of St Martin. There is also the tempting produce of a farmhouse bakery across from the red telephone box!
The Walled Gardens of Scampston
are a real delight to walk around and there is a good
restaurant-cafe there too which serves delicious food. *
Scampston Village
Some lovely brick cottages in the village of Scampston.
The St Martin's Church (built 1842 by G. T. Andrews) in the centre of Scampston Village.

Apart from the gardens themselves, there is a lovely cafe and a beehive which you can look into (safely!) and lots of varieties of plants to buy.
A most enjoyable experience!
