At Moyaster , the WCR preservation society has its headquarters and a museum.

The West Clare narrow gauge railway ran from Ennis via two branch lines to Kilrush and Kilkee.

A line of old diesel locomotives at the 'headquarters' of the West Clare Railway, but the preservation society runs both diesel and steam operated passenger trains - three 0-6-2T steam locomotives have been preserved.

 The West Clare Railway ran in County Clare from 1887 and 1961. The West Clare Railway was a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow-gauge railway that ran from the county town of Ennis, with numerous stopping-points along to the West Clare coast to terminate, at Kilrush and Kilkee, with the two routes diverging at Moyasta Junction. The West Clare Railway was the last operating narrow gauge passenger system in Ireland despite connecting with the mainline rail system at Ennis,
