Chapel of Unity (attached to the modern Cathedral) Scenes in English West Midlands When the new modern Coventry Cathedral was built, the Chapel of Unity was built to one side of the main cathedral building. The idea was that the Chapel of Unity Coventry should be a place to echo the prayer of Jesus that his followers 'may be one'. The Swedish artist Einar Forseth designed the Unit Chapel's floor - a gift from the people of Sweden. The stained glass window panels were designed by the artist Margaret Trahearne and a gift from German churches. The Chapel of Unity not an officially part of the Coventry Cathedral, but actually belongs to, and administered by, a body representing the Christian churches of Coventry.
