Ballinspittle (Irish: Béal Átha an Spidéil, means 'ford mouth of the hospital') is a small village in County Cork, Ireland. It is found about 8 km (5 ml) southwest of Kinsale, on the R600 road.

It is near the really good Garrylucas and Garrettstown Blue Flag beaches.

The village of Ballinspittle has a community with new housing estates, businesses, a post office, a national school and a Gaelic Athletic Association facility known as the Jim O' Regan Memorial Park.

Ballinspittle village exhibits a typical array of colourful shops and houses.

Ballinspittle has only a few shops, but it is one of those places where we stop to get provisions

A very purple house in Ballinspittle!

In the summer of 1985, Ballinspittle received national and international attention when some villagers claimed to have witnessed a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary moving spontaneously - waving from side to side!. As news story spread, thousands of pilgrims and spectators flocked to the site of the statue. Many visitors claimed to have observed the spontaneous movement of the statue of Mary. The Catholic Church in Ireland maintained a neutral stance as regards the authenticity of the claims, and the phenomenon and story seemed to have just died a natural death.
