The village setting and walks Beara Peninsula, Ring of Beara, County Cork
Glengarriff (Irish: An Gleann Garbh, meaning 'the rough glen') is almost a one street village, population of approximately 140 people that lies on the N71 national secondary road into the Beara Peninsula of County Cork, Ireland. It is both a local and internationally known as a tourism venue since Victorian times. There natural attractions from woodland waking to a boat trip to Garinish Island. Glengarriff is situated at the northern head of Glengarriff Bay, a smaller enclave of Bantry Bay. Glengarriff is situated about 20 km (~12 miles) west of Bantry, and 30 km (~18 miles) east of Castletownbere on the Beara Peninsula. Glengarriff is a common stopping-point along the main coast road as well as north to Kenmare. We always pray for good weather in Glengarriff, and generally speaking, we have always been well rewarded!
