(b) Slip cove harbour - Knockmahon

Slip harbour at Knockmahon built just down the road from Tankardstown Mine to act as a port to export copper ore concentrate to the smelting forces of Swansea in Wales, Geopark Copper Coast Drive

Most of the mine engine house buildings have gone, but evidence of the shafts can still be seen.

The Geopark geological garden at Bunmahon displays a variety of rocks and explains their formation 350 to 400 million years ago.
