8. Connemara coast
- Renvyle Peninsula, Lettergesh Beach, hedgerows and
mountains in Co. Galway
SCENES from IRELAND
The ruins of Renvyle Castle (right) and the Mweelrea and other Mountains of
Connemara in the distance. The cottage we stayed in is on the distant
right of the ruined Renvyle Castle tower, perfect for a final evening
walk to observe the sunsets (see
page 9.).

The lovely and uncrowded Lettergesh Beach and
Mweelrea mountain on the distant right - great coastal scenery and so
quiet, not a bit touristy!
... endless glorious hedgerows of fuchsia,
monbretia, purple loosestrife and always mountains in the background.
Always the sea, beaches, mountains and wild
flowers of the hedgerows in the wonderful beautifully scenic Connemara,
County Galway on the west coast of Ireland.

Lettergesh Beach, Connemara, County Galway, West of Ireland: Lettergesh
beach has a good car park and is not only a great beach in its
own right, but the surrounding scenery is quite magnificent
ranging from the Mweelrea mountains and the endless glorious
hedgerows of fuchsia, monbretia, purple loosestrife and
always mountains in the background. A great picnic spot for
a stroll on the beach or a swim in the sea! |
