balance3.gifState symbols like (aq), (g), (l) and (s) have been left out so you can concentrate on deducing the balancing numbers from 2, 3, 4 etc.
Some are very easy but some are much more tricky and the last one is ghastly!

(1) HCl + CuO ===> CuCl2 + H2O

(2) CaCO + HCl ===> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

(3) Cu(OH)2 + H2SO4 ===> CuSO4 + H2O

(4) Fe3O4 + C ===> Fe + CO2

(5) NaHCO3 ===> Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2

(6) H3PO4 + KOH ===> K3PO4 + H2O

(7) CuO + C ===> Cu + CO2

(8) Al(OH)3 + H2SO4 ===> Al2(SO4)3 + H2O

(9) Fe2O3 + CO ===> Fe + CO2

(10) Fe3O4 + C ===> Fe + CO

balance2.gif(11) This last one is real brain teaser - normally encountered at A level, but be brave, and have a go, after all, the first number is given and nobody is looking!

2KMnO4 + HCl ===> KCl + MnCl2 + Cl2 + H2O
