Scenes from Wales
Cadir Idris walk: There is a handy little car park at Ty-Nant, west of Dolgellau.
Cadir Idris walk: The clouds descending the northern slopes of Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: At Ty-Nant there is a cafe (open in summer) and bunkhouse for 'trekkers', but not open today, so on and over the stream ...
and passed the information board about the land management in the Snowdonia National Park to the foot of the Pony Path up Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: There are good views all round when hiking up the Pony Track.
Cadir Idris walk: The clouds rolling down over the slopes of Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: Looking back down to Ty-Nant.
Cadir Idris walk: Just before the final leg along the ridge to the summit - very easy walking but the visibility was beginning to get less and less!
Cadir Idris walk: Just before the mist capped summit of Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: The summit at last! and two very unflattering portraits leaning on the old trig point.
Cadir Idris walk: On descending more of the previously unseen magnificent northern views emerged out of the clouds.
Cadir Idris walk: Was this a raven we could see and hear?
Cadir Idris walk: Looking west towards the coast to the footbridge and railway bridge to Barmouth and the River Mawddach estuary.
Cadir Idris walk: Cloud level about the same!
Cadir Idris walk: You can just see the railway and footbridge bridge at Barmouth across the Mawddach estuary.
Cadir Idris walk: Still great haunting views up and down the slopes of Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: Getting a little brighter lower down!
Cadir Idris walk: The screes of the northern slopes of Cadair Idris.
Cadir Idris walk: Finally, back down past Ty-nant to return to the car-park.
