A circular industrial archaeology walk around Rosedale 6. A circular walk to Lastingham Village & Church from Rosedale 7. Farndale - Rudland Rigg Walk from Low Mill As well as the wild moorland walking country of the North Yorkshire Moors, there lots of lovely towns and villages in Ryedale and the Yorkshire Wolds to visit, many having particular attractions for tourists-visitors. There is no shortage of accommodation from bed and breakfast, holiday cottages, hostels and hotels etc. Three such interesting villages are described by a few token photographs which I hope will encourage and enthuse you to visit them. I feel lucky to live in this are of outstanding natural beauty and can go out walking/motoring with a digital camera to happily explore and record in images-pictures what I see, but all is best scene 'live'! Top picture: Heather being burned off above Hutton-le-Hole. Left: The tower of St Mary's Church, Lastingham. Right: The entrance to the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole. * Lastingham, Hutton-le-Hole, Appleton-le-Moors and nearby Rosedale in the North York Moors National park, are both lovely attractive villages and therefore significant tourist attractions but there are many lovely quiet walks in the surrounding countryside and villages to explore for the visitor to the North Yorkshire region to enjoy. * Page updated July 20th 2008, EMAIL Phil Brown * digital images snapshots photographs pictures views scenes views pics photos snaps webshots of Rosedale, Lastingham, Farndale, Hutton-le-Hole and Appleton-le-Moors on the North York Moors, North Yorkshire © Phil Brown docspics 2008 * Recommended books and maps of the district and region * The excellent walking guides "Walks on the North York Moors" Books 1 & 2 by Jack Keighley "Walks on the North York Moors - Walking Country - Western" by Paul Hannon "Walks on the North York Moors - Walking Country - Southern" by Paul Hannon "Walks on the North York Moors - Book Three - Eskdale and the Coast" by Paul Hannon "On foot in the North York Moors" 35 classic walks by Alan Hall The Dalesman mini-book "Walking on the North York Moors" compiled by the Ramblers Association (North Yorkshire & South Durham Area, some good ideas but poor on maps) "Ten Scenic Walks around Rosedale, Farndale and Hutton-le-Hole" by J.
