The entrance to the Bury Transport Museum is across the road from the Bury station on the East Lancashire Railway
The Bury Transport Museum is housed in a restored goods warehouse built in 1848.

Another general view of the display area from the education suite that schools can use. The Bury Transport Museum has attempted, and very successfully, collected together as many exhibits as possible that actually relate to transport and industry in the local area.
Bury Transport Museum: A 'Morris Minor' style General Post Office (GPO) van built by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) at their Oxford works in 1956. It operated in the Scunthorpe, Newcastle and Newbiggin areas until 1964.

Left (and below): The Reversible Horse Tram L 53 built in 1880, worked in the Stockport, Levenshulme and Heat Chapel areas of Greater Manchester in the late 19th century. It was built by the Manchester Carriage and Tramways Company to a design that allowed the passenger carriage to be rotated through 180o by the horse so that the whole tram did not have to go round a track loop to go back in the opposite direction.
Right: The Leyland Atlantean PDR2 double-decker bus, service fleet number 6809 built for the Bolton Corporation Transport Department in 1971, built by Leyland Motors and the East Lancashire Coachbuilders. It worked on the busiest routes around Bolton and Bury until 1985 and could seat up to 86 people.

Bury Transport Museum: Motor car AVF 245 is a Ford 8HP Model-Y built in 1936.
Bury Transport Museum: The Leyland single-decker bus PS2/1 jointly built by Leyland Motors and the East Lancashire Coachbuilders in 1950. It worked in the Rawtenstall and Rossendale Valley areas until 1965. The design is narrow and the engine powerful, so it was ideal for narrow roads up and down hilly valleys.
Bury Transport Museum: The Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 double-decker bus (fleet number 185) built by Leyland Motors and the East Lancashire Coachbuilders in 1963. It was used by Bolton Corporation Transport until 1981. It was the first Leyland bus design to have the engine at the rear of the vehicle so the door is now at the front near the driver's cab.
Bury Transport Museum: Foden S83 Tractor Unit made in 1977 by the Foden motor company in Sandbach, Cheshire and pulled trailers carrying steel from Sheffield to Lancashire and for general haulage of heavy loads.
Bury Transport Museum: A luxury coach of 1976 from Yelloway!, of vehicle registration NNC 885P, make AEC Reliance/Duple Dominant Coach. It was used by Yelloway Services Ltd of Rochdale for express coach services to London, East Anglia, Torquay and other resorts.
Bury Transport Museum: Dunsters Farm, Bury, used this van as a working vehicle. It is a Model T Ford Van, registration AB 4693, built ~1914 by the Ford Motor Company.

Bury Transport Museum: James Holden & Son Ltd Austin van registration EDA 327, built between 1939 and 1947 ? It was used as a delivery van in the Holcolme Brook Mills area.
Bury Transport Museum: The classic Dennis F12 fire engine built by the Dennis Brothers of Guildford, Surrey, in 1952 for the Cheshire Fire Brigade and it operated in the Northwich area until 1974.
Bury Transport Museum: The steam roller 'HILDA' built in 1921 by Thomas Green & Co. of Leeds. Top speed 5 mph and had to be filled up with water every 5 miles, major rebuild after a crash, but had a working life of 50 years!

Bury Transport Museum: The classic Fordson Major Tractor built in 1959 built by Fordsons of Dagenham, Essex.
Bury Transport Museum: The Marshall 'Doris' portable engine built in 1919,which has been used to power a sawbench in Aberdeen, and as a steam boiler for sterilising soil.
