As well as the wild moorland walking country of the North York Moors, North Yorkshire, a most attractive part of Northern England with lots of lovely towns and villages to visit in the District of Ryedale and south of Helmsley with many having particular attractions for tourists-visitors. There are lots of places o interest to visit and stay and there is no shortage of accommodation from bed and breakfast, holiday cottages, hostels and hotels etc. Three such interesting villages are described by a few token photographs which I hope will encourage and enthuse you to visit them. I feel lucky to live in this are of outstanding natural beauty and can go out walking/motoring with a digital camera to happily explore and record in images-pictures what I see, but all is best scene 'live'! Note: Kirkbymoorside has in the past been written as Kirkby Moorside. There are numerous villages e.g. Pockley, Coxwold, Sproxton, Ampleforth, Oswaldkirk, Husthwaite, Old Byland etc. with their churches and Byland and Rievaulx and Byland Abbey, St Gregory Minster Kirkdale and Newburgh Priory etc. to visit and lots of lovely walking from wild moorland, old green drove roads to tranquil strolls through gentle rolling farmland between the villages and the many 'hidden' dales like Riccal Dale in the many districts and regions of this part of North Yorkshire. Outstanding scenery, friendly people, interesting walks, historic English churches, buildings, towns, villages, townscapes, landscapes and moorlands to visit and walking around North Yorkshire - Ryedale Views of Helmsley, Rievaulx Abbey, Kirkbymoorside, Coxwold, lots of hotels pubs and inns to suit all budgets, coach tours, varied tourist attractions, walking on the North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Northern England English images pictures photos © Phil Brown docspics |
