Across the River Danube from 'old' Buda, the splendid neo-Gothic Parliament buildings built over a period from the end of the 19th century to the early 20th century (1884-1906).

The Hungarian Parliament buildings, known as the 'Peoples House' is a breathtaking piece of architecture.

Budapest, Buda: A fine brick built church with highly coloured decorative roof tiles.

 

The Chain Bridge (Szechenyi lanchid) was built between 1838 and 1849 to the design of the Englishman Adam Clark.

By the Elizabeth Bridge, on its Pest end, is the oldest church in Budapest - the Inner City Parish Church (Belvarosi Plebaniatemplom) which has Gothic and Baroque architectural features and seems to be undergoing considerable restoration work (2009).
