It is not my intention to provide detailed routes for walking, but to convey to the potential visitor, whether touring motorist, or a serious fell walker, the wonderful holiday country of the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines, with occasional snippets of East Cumbria. All the digital photographs are taken 'off the cuff' on the many walks and places we visit from which we derive considerable pleasure. We normally stay in youth hostels but there numerous friendly and hospitable bed and breakfast places or holiday cottages to rent. The site is dedicated to the friendship of Phil and Molly Brown, Pam Shepherd and Ian McCulley, Dave and Cath Wright and Peter and Anni Hicks, and may our boots wear out together for as long as possible. Annie, sadly, is no longer with us, but she loved the Dales as much as any of us.
